Monday, March 2, 2015

so, today is a blah day.
not because it's been a hard day or because it's monday,
but because i don't feel good.

today i woke up extra early,
with achy hips, a headache
&
a slight sore throat.

now most would say,
'oh, get over it, you're fine,
it's just a little pain, blah, blah blah'
but for me it's much more.

you see, most days i'm in some sort of pain.
never anything to substantail,
but there is always something...
and i live for days where i just feel 'normal'.
(and trust me it doesn't happen very often, if ever at all)

but i am thankful...
well, obviously to be alive, i won't take that for granted
but i'm really thankful for
this guy!

this guy, he gets me,
especially when no one else does.
he lets me complain...
even though i try not to always say,
'hunnybunnies, i have a headache,
hunny, my stomach hurts
hunny, i'm soooooo freakin tired'

he knows this,
and knows that this is an everyday struggle
for me in one form or another.

so he helps me.
he helps by picking up the kids from daycare if i need a one day break.
he brings me water and medicine into bed.
he lets me have 'me' time, even if it is just me sleeping an extra couple of hours on the weekend
or letting me go to dance 2 nights a week, so that i can get away
and try to feel better and just be out of the house.

i loves him
and not just LOVES him, but i
LOVE LOVES him.

this dude,
he gets me
when no one else does or when no one else wants too,
he's there for me and makes me feel better
even if i'm a mean old hag when i don't
REALLY
feel good.

he lets me be me
and understands that i have a lot of bad days
but we try to make the best of them,
and when i'm having a
good
day it makes both of us appreciate those even more.

so, today is a blah day,
a day where i feel extra icky...
(and probably getting sick because of my 3 year old)
but i have my man and that's all that matters.

he makes/will make me feel better
and i can't wait until 9 o'clock tonight
when i get home from dance
and can sit down and watch the bachelor with him...
(because he loves me that much)
because that is 'our' time
(and the time that will make me 'feel better')
and i wouldn't trade it for anything.

this ones for the rats

how many of you have little kids that absolutely
HATE
having their hair brushed?!?!
(or even you, as an adult...don't we all hate rats and rats' nests in our hair...aka tangles)

well, i have 1, kid that is (my other kid doesn't have enough hair yet to have this problem #5montholdproblems), and i have found the miracle tool
to end all hair wars!

(well, maybe not end them, but more like make them more tolerable...she still doesn't
like to have her hair brushed, but this little gem
makes it a whole lot easier)

Behold, the GOODY TangleFix Hand-Held Brush

i picked up this brush, (at the dreaded Wal-Mart) as another tool,
in the sea of 20,000 hair brushes, whachamachalics, thingamajigs...
 to try and tame the
3 year olds, ratty, crazy, unruly hair
and alas
IT WORKS!!!

the brush is all plastic bristles that are at different lenghts
so it doesn't just pull the hair down straight,
but separates the pieces
and in turn detangles it without pulling or tugging.

now, i will admit, that yes sometimes the little beastling
has a horrid amount of rats
so i have to pull harder but ultimately
it gets even the hardest of rats nests out with very little
(and less painful)
pulling or tugging.

i especially love using this brush after bathtime,
it just makes her hair so silky soft.

(i've even used it on my own hair, just because...
i don't normally brush my hair,
but i love the feeling of running that through my hair and not have a tangle that
i can't conquer!)

so, if you are looking for a tool that does the trick
of getting the messy rats and rats nests (tangles),
out of your kid's hair
(or even yours)
then try this brush out

and if you hate it...don't blame me!!!  :)

Scuttles' 3rd Birthday

a few weeks ago was scuttles 3rd birthday.
i can't believe she is that old already!
birthdays are a special thing,
i, myself, believe that it is your day...
(i have never, and will never work on my birthday)
a day to do as you please, because it is YOUR very own
holiday.
(others may disagree, but oh well)
anyways, scuttles celebrated her birthday a few times this year.
on her actual birthday, she had her normal day
and of course ended it with
'old mcdonald's'
her fav.
and a few presents.
a few days later we had a little family lunch
at a hibachi grill,
because scuttles loves fried rice!
the hibachi was cool because not only did we get to watch the show,
but they brought her out a mini cake all while
banging on some drums and singing her happy birthday
and making her wear a huge chefs hat...
she loved it!
scuttles got lots of good presents,
more necessities than anything...
but, hey, that's what she needed, not another
5000 little toys that she will
only play with for 12 seconds.
but she did get one present that was pretty awesome.
well, i think it's awesome because i got it,
so i might be bias,
but
you see, she loves to takes pictures.
she's not a huge fan of being in the pictures but she loves to take them,
so i got her, her own kiddie camera.
(that way she will stop wanting to use my really nice one, this has
yet to happen :) )
anyways, this camera is super cool!
it has 2 eye holes for the little ones to look thru.
it has built in editing designs,
and even some games.
you can actually zoom in with the camera and upload the pictures
when you are done so that they can be shared
with all her loved ones...
haven't done that yet...
so, i'm making a recommendation
for anyone out there that may have a budding photographer in their mists,
or just have a toddler that likes to take selfies,
at least now they can try and take other types of photos...
try the vtech kidizoom camera.
this camera is awesome and it's def. a toy
that is played with often and can actually capture memories
to last the little one for a lifetime!

this chair(s)

so, this chair...
i love this chair, (and i actually have 2, bonus, score, so i actually love both, umm yeah!)

(oh, and i love the little corgi nose underneath it!)

i got these chairs a couple of years ago from my husband,
my wonderful, hot, awesomesauce of a husband.

we had went to a local antique/resale shop and i fell in love with the pair
and at the time i had nothing that they would go with,
but alas,
i loved the old style, almost like something my grandma would have had,
and i absolutely loved the pink velvet!

i didn't buy them at the time,
just left hoping they would find themselves back to me one day
and they did...with the help of my husband
and his loving thoughtfulness,
and his need to think he just had to get me an anniversary gift.

but who doesn't love presents?!?!
i know i love them!!! so i wasn't complaining.

i just knew one day i would find just the perfect spot for them,
and i have just done that!

we redid our living room this past summer, and they found their new home right in front of the window.

they are the cutest, and they bring
a smile to my face just knowing that they are mine
forever.
and i think the corgis don't mind them either!
